General Information

- Offers 180 degrees full face and eye protection

- Clear APET acrylic shield

- Light weight and comfortable

- Comes in three options; Forehead mount with foam comfort pad, Face Masks with Eye Shield and Eye-Glass Mounted Face Shield

- When worn together with a properly fitted surgical mask, face shields offer protection from contamination to others, as well as to the wearer

- Where face masks are not available, face shields may be used as an alternative

Best Practices

- Face shields should always be worn with a mask underneath, since face shields do not offer you full protection from infectious respiratory particles that can escape around the face shield

- The CDC recommends wearing disposable face shields once. You can use a non-disposable face shield repeatedly as long as it’s not warped, damaged or cracked

- If your face shield becomes damaged, don’t try to fix it. Dispose of it and get a new one

- Our face shields are reasonably priced and easy to replace

How to safely put on your Face Shield

1) Ensure you have washed your hands with soap and water or used hand sanitizer before you get a mask

2) Bend forward slightly, holding on to the straps of the face shield with both hands. Do not touch the front of the face shield

3) Expand the elastic with your thumbs and place the elastic behind your head, so that the foam rests on your forehead

4) Once the shield is on, check to make sure it covers the front and sides of your face and no areas are left uncovered. The forehead band should sit about 3cm above your eyebrows, with the bottom of the shield sitting below chin level

5) You must always have the shield down. The shield should never be pushed to the “up” position

6) If your visor does not stay in position, tighten by adjusting the elastic on the side of the face shield. Each type of shield is slightly different

7) Face shields can be kept on for as long as they keep their shape and remain intact; and when appropriate steps are taken to avoid cross contamination

How to safely dispose of your Face Shield

At no time should the front of the face shield be touched

1) Take off other PPE first and wash hands before taking off the shield

2) Tilt your head forward slightly, grab the strap at the temple and pull forward and over your head

3) Dispose of the face shield safely if it isn’t reusable or place the used face shield into a bag or container to be transferred/collected to an area where cleaning or mass disinfection will occur

4) Wash hands again

To Wash the face shield:

1) Submerge the protective panel in warm, soapy water first to get any surface contaminants off and then gently clean the surface with a soft sponge or cloth. After that, rinse and gently dry your face shield with a soft towel (cotton or microfiber). You can clean the headpiece separately. It’s possible to clean a face shield with antibacterial wipes, but be careful because they can leave a residue. You can also sanitize your face shield with 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes. If you’re tempted to use a window or household cleaner on your face shield, don’t. Harsh cleaners could potentially damage it!

Re-using single-use face shields is not recommended and they should be discarded immediately after use. Re-using should only be considered in the context of a critical supply issue.

If available, the manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU) should be followed
